The Heart Behind Donate and Be Blessed
On our many trips back to Honduras, my husband and I constantly saw heartbreaking realities. Children digging through dumpsters, trying to find something to eat. Some would pick up old soda bottles, desperate to sip out the last drops of liquid. Widows stood in the streets asking for food. Families lived under cardboard boxes, their bodies covered with flies. Every trip broke our hearts more and more, and it made us realize we had to do something.
We often took our two little ones with us, because we wanted them to see both the beauty and the struggles of Honduras. At first, it was hard for them to process, but it changed them. They became so grateful for what they had at home, and every time we visited Honduras after that, they would ask, “Can we go give out food again?” They wanted to serve alongside us, and that filled us with hope.
One day, my husband and I decided to cook as much food as we could and distribute it to children, families, and widows in need. The joy and relief on their faces showed us that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. That moment changed everything for us, and it was then that Donate and Be Blessed was born.
Alongside running our family business, Smart Tax Services, we worked tirelessly so we could fund more trips back to Honduras. Every profit we made went into helping the poor—providing meals, support, and hope where it was desperately needed. Helping others was never just a project for us—it became our mission.
In July 14 2025, my husband passed away. Losing him has been the hardest thing I’ve ever faced. This website, and this mission, are built in his honor. Donate and Be Blessed was our dream together, and though he is no longer here, I know without a doubt this is something he would want me to continue.
So I stand today, with faith and determination, carrying forward the mission we started as a family—to bring light, food, and love to children and families in Honduras. Because no child should have to dig through the trash for food. No widow should have to beg in the streets. And no family should ever feel forgotten.
